Color Palettes | Rose Tones

Lillian in Faded Rose
Whenever I'm planning a design with lots of color, I turn to Design Seeds for inspiration. So, when I was working on several new Lillian necklaces, I picked the Rose Tones from Design Seeds.
Although Swarovski crystals come in nearly one hundred different colors, they still don't have exact matches for everything & so, my design is a little more vibrant than the inspiration.
The Lillian necklace features gorgeous Swarovski crystal hand knotted on french cotton. It has lovely drape so that is always looks nice when worn. In addition to the drape, it can be worn three different ways:

Long & loose
Doubled up
Knotted in the front

My favorite way is knotted in the front but I'd love to hear how you can see yourself wearing it! Comment below with your opinion!

Color Palettes | Branching Hues

~ Early Bloomer Earrings ~
These buttons are quite fun to work with, they are made out of recycled fiber & not only have a lovely visual texture but one that you can feel. I enjoy using Design Seeds to find unique color combinations at any time but especially when I can't think of anything except your basic palettes that can get a little boring.

I liked how this palette uses the reddish pink to add a pop of color to this otherwise simple & calm color scheme...although I do have a confession to make about that reddish pink.

Maybe you find yourself wearing a favorite shirt all the time or using a tried & true combination of spices every single time you cook no matter what you're mixing up in the kitchen. Well, I discovered that whenever I want to add a touch of vibrant color to a design, I usually reach for that shade of raspberry pink. I guess I really like how it adds warmth & a touch of sweetness without overdoing it as a rosy pink would. It's unexpected but it works beautifully.

Is there a color that you love & are always reaching for to accent your style?

Color Palettes | Winter Tones

~ Wintry Chic Earrings ~
I love shell buttons & when I find some that have filigree as this pair does, I immediately think of chandelier earrings. However, I don't normally use a lot of black in my designs & I was lacking inspiration of what color to combine with it that wasn't one of the typical black & ____ pairings. So I went hunting on Design Seeds for some color palettes to work with & found this:

It's quite simple but I'd never have thought of putting jet black & such chocolaty brown in the same design. However, it adds both vibrancy & an element of surprise as your eyes travel down from the hook, seeing classy silver & black and then there's this pop of rich browns & teal blues.

What unusual colors catch your eye?

Color Palettes | Lavender Hues

While I originally intended this design to be antique brass & silver, I was in automatic mode & had nearly finished the wrapping before I realized I had the wrong wire. I ended up liking the warm tones so I didn't redo it.

The colors are taken from this  Design Seeds color palette. I love the soft, muted tones that go so well together even though they don't really have a bright pop of color.

Color Palettes | Cupcake Hues

~ Vibrant Ice Hoops ~
This is another of the Design Seeds color palettes that I based a pair of crystal hoop earrings off of. Despite how nice I thought it would look with the gold wire, I decided to do it in silver. They turned out with brilliant, icy color.

Color Palettes | Color Nature

~ Poppy Hoops ~
These hoop earrings were an immediate favorite with my sister because of the mixture of green, yellow, & orange tones. The colors are mostly based off of this Design Seeds color palette.

Color Palettes | Color Cuisine

~ Afternoon Mint Hoops ~
If you haven't caught on yet, I'm doing a series of hoop earrings based on Design Seeds color palettes. It's fun to have a bit of fabulous photography & color each day, very inspiring too!

I wasn't quite sure that this was the best palette to use but later decided that a simpler color range would be a nice break from my recent work. This color scheme is made of various shades of dusky teal with neutral accents.

Color Palettes | Flora Glow

~ Flora Hoops ~
Design Seeds has been a long time favorite of mine for color inspiration & though it was the soft pink tones that first caught my eye, I liked the accent of green & the effect it has on the other colors.

Even though it would seem to be the orange crystals that make these earrings pop, it's actually the contrast of green in with all the warm tones of pink, yellow & orange. I love how the simplest of pictures can have such vibrant & interesting color combinations.

Color Palettes | Tuscan Hoops

~ Tuscan Hoops ~
Hoop earrings seem to fascinate me. I think it's a combination of fun & the perfect size for testing a new color palette on a small scale.

I subscribe to Design Seeds & when I saw this palette, I knew that I had to make a design based off of this. So, these hoop earrings were just right for trying out the color combination.
